As you know smoking is a dangerous addiction!
It causes more than 400,000 deaths each year, about 1 of every 5 deaths in the U.S.
About 1 in 4 people in U.S. are smokers.
About 1 in 4 people in U.S. are former smokers.
Most smokers began as teens.
Smoking increases the risk of cancer, heart attack, stomach ulcers and multiplies your high blood pressure or cholesterol.
Increases your heart rate.
Causes vision problems!

We value your opinion and are pleased to say that we have gotten some responses that indicate we are serving our patients well. However, we have received several recommendations on needed improvements. Dr. Joseph will attend a four day seminar hosted by the American Association of Ophthalmologists in November.
Jessica McGowan recently received her Certification for Ophthalmic Technician (COT)!
Susan Faul attended a seminar entitled �HIPAA Compliance and Implementation for Health Care Professionals� in July and has received a certificate of completion!

Office Advancements
You can now access us on-line at www.bohnjosepheyemd.org where you can request an appointment, order contact lenses and even up-date your records by printing and completing the on-line registration form available. At the Bohn and Joseph Eye Center we are doing our best to keep up with technology by providing these services to our patients. We welcome any recommendations you may have by calling Joan Huesers at 337-981-6430.
Meet Our Staff
Gerri Dunand has been working at the Bohn and Joseph Eye Center for 15 years! She began as a receptionist in 1988, after 6 years in the position she became a technician receiving her COA certification in 1995. Eight years later, she began working in our billing department. Gerri graduated from E. Broussard High School and resided in Crowley until 1972 when she moved to Lafayette. Gerri has 2 daughters, 1 son, 1 granddaughter and 5 grandsons. She has been married to her husband Charles Dunand for 14 years and together they enjoy working with the Senior Men's Golfing Association. In her spare time Gerri enjoys sewing, crocheting, and collecting antique pink glass. When asked about her job, she stated, �The best part of my job would be accomplishing my deadline goals, I like learning new things, I like change. I am lucky that I was able to wait until my children were grown to come to work so I can devote all of my time to the Bohn and Joseph Eye Center.�

In an effort to provide our patients with the most up to date information we have informational brochures on Diabetic Retinopathy, Macular Degeneration, Detached & Torn Retina and Glaucoma.
