Chalazion/Stye Removal

While the Chalazion is small, it can be removed through a tiny incision at the back of the eyelid and is usually an outpatient procedure. The operation is performed under local anesthetic, which is applied with a small injection into the eyelid making it a relatively painless procedure.

Penetrating Keratoplasty/PK

A penetrating keratoplasty is a corneal transplant performed for an array of conditions that create reduced vision including Fuchs' Corneal Dystrophy, Bullous Keratopathy, Herpes Keratitis, and occasionally Ocular Trauma.

Phototherapeutic Keratoplasty/PTK

Phototherapeutic keratoplasty/keratectomy (PTK) involves using sutures or an excimer laser to treat the cornea. PTK removes thin layers of corneal tissue to create a healthy surface.

Pterygium Removal

In pterygium surgery, the abnormal tissue is removed from the cornea and sclera. Pterygium surgery has a significantly high success rate. Healing typically takes approximately two to four weeks with mild to moderate discomfort.

Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty (SLT)

Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty (SLT) is a form of laser surgery that operates at very low levels allowing healthy tissue to remain untouched and intact. For this reason this procedure can be safely repeated numerous times if necessary.

Tear Duct Probing

Tear duct probing is used in the treatment of nasolacrimal duct obstruction. A tear duct probing and irrigation is completed in the operating room under general anesthesia.

YAG Laser

YAG laser is performed by puncturing a hole in the iris to relieve increased pressure within the eye from acute angle-closure glaucoma.

YAG Laser Capsulotomies

A YAG laser is used to cut a hole in the clouded back membrane of the lens capsule to allow light to bypass the membrane to the retina at the back of the eye.
